Because of the unique cocktail of language Łukasz and I use, a wry expression of delight like “Pomegranate seeds make me believe in God” turns into a philosophical statement: “I don’t know if God exists or not, but when I eat pomegranates I think maybe he does.”

  1. You know that in Judaism pomegranates are supposed to remind you of your obligations to god? Perhaps Lukasz was trying to relate this to you, but simply misremembered how it was supposed to go. Or it was your explanation. Probably, actually.

    • I was the one who said this. I was, perhaps mistakenly, assuming that the intended irony was lost on Łukasz. It’s okay, though, because it’s actually pretty accurate to what I believe.
